A well-fitting collared shirt is something we at #fbo believe that every man should own!

Unfortunately, many men (and ladies who shop for their partners) have difficulty picking out the most suitable collared shirt.

At #fbo, we understand this struggle and we have therefore created the following guide to help you out!

The good news is that buying the best-collared shirt for your body type is easier than it looks! #fbo has a wide range of collared shirts to suit every guy and to emphasize your best qualities.

The first aspect to consider is the shoulder area. When trying on a collared shirt, the seam must always meet comfortably at the corner of your shoulder bone. Not only does this feel comfy but it also looks smart. As a general rule of thumb, when the collar is fastened, you should always be able to fit 2 fingers inside your collar.

The next factor to think about is the shirt’s armholes. These should not be restrictive to your range of motion and should be high enough to allow your arms to move freely. The sleeve itself should fit your arm neatly, not too tightly, and not too loosely. It is a difficult balance to achieve but very important in terms of both comfort and look.

Sleeve length should not be too long or too short. When you try on your collared shirt, the sleeves should come to an end where your wrist meets the palm of your hand (ie. around 1 inch from your wrist bone).

One feature of a collared shirt that can either make or break the overall look is the area around your torso. When you pull the fabric away from your body, there should not be more than 3 to 4 inches of material in your hand.

So ensure you keep these pointers in mind when you are buying your next collared shirt.
